What Lipik does
- Hold fn, talk, let go: clean text in any app. fn + Space is hands-free.
- Speech to text with Parakeet by default (731 MB, on your Mac). Free Whisper models in Settings cover 99 languages.
- Built-in clean-up with Qwen3 8B or 4B, on your Mac, with a tone for each kind of app.
- Hinglish in Roman letters, in dictation and in meeting notes.
- Meeting notes with no bot, which AI apps such as Claude and Cursor can read on your Mac.
When Superwhisper may suit you better
Superwhisper has apps for Windows, iOS and Android, and offers cloud models, which its site says work best on Intel Macs. Lipik needs a Mac with Apple silicon.
What needs the internet
After one-time model downloads, dictation works with Wi-Fi off. There is no account, and nothing you say leaves your Mac. The full list of what Lipik sends online is on the free dictation page.

Yes. Every feature is free, with no subscription, no account and no word limit.

Does Lipik work offline like Superwhisper's local models?
Yes. Speech to text and clean-up run on your Mac. After the one-time model downloads, Lipik works with Wi-Fi off.
Can I use Whisper models in Lipik?
Yes. Parakeet is the default English model, and free Whisper models can be downloaded in Settings. Together they cover 99 languages.
Is there a Windows or iPhone version?
Not yet. Lipik runs on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later).

Free, for Macs with Apple silicon. Open the download, drag Lipik into Applications, and hold fn to start.
